Actually, upgrading your Android 4.4.2 to Lollipop is not as simple as that. Only when a newer version of Android is available for your phone then you can upgrade your Android version. There are two methods for checking: Go to the Settings tab > Navigate to ‘About Phone’ > go to the first option, ‘Check for system updates. Go to Settings > Software Upgrade > Download and install to update an older Samsung tablet. Check for updates manually by navigating to Settings > About device > System updates. Follow the on-screen steps to download and install the most recent version of Android if the system is not up to date.

The Android Gradle Plugin Version should be 7.2.1 or later and the Gradle Version should be 7.4.2 or later. Apply these changes and run a gradle sync by clicking on the Elephant Icon in the top right of Android Studio.
